Day 1 "Dublin's Fair City" Arrive Dublin early morning.
The day is yours to explore Literary Dublin. Visit the Book of Kells at Trinity College; St Patrick's Cathedral with Jonathan Swift's resting place; Marsh's Library; and The Guinness Brewery!
Tonight a literary pub crawl is included followed by pub supper on your own. Overnight in Waterloo House or The Dylan Hotel, a 4* guesthouse or 5* hotel, both in Dublin 4, a very literary area.
Day 2 Visit Dublin Writers' Museum, Parnell Square; George Bernard Shaw Centre, Synge Street; James Joyce Centre, North Great Georges St; tour of Ulysses sites in various parts of the city.
This evening you should consider a visit to Abbey Theatre or Gate Theatre
Day 3 Lakeland Country Pick up your car and depart Dublin
to Delvin, Brinsley Sheridan's home town; Tullynally Castle, home of Thomas Pakenham & Lady Antonia Fraser; and of Edward Longford, founder of the Gate Theatre; past J P Dunleavy's home to Mullingar.
A suggested lunch stop would be the Greville Arms Hotel with its Joycean connection.
To Lilliput, south of Mullingar, Swift's inspitration.. Overnight in Durrow Castle, a manor house hotel in the midlands.
Day 4
The River Valleys of the South East Visit to Kilkenny. Bishop Berkeley the philosopher was educated here;
The tour of Kilkenny Castle is well worth while. Lunch at leisure in one of the many pubs in this medieval city. Through Lawrence Sterne's Clonmel; to Lismore associated with Mollie Keane & Dervla Murphy. Overnight in Cork

Day 5 The Coast of West Cork Travel via Bandon (home of Mary Norton,
"Bedknobs & Broomsticks") to Skibbereen , the setting for Somerville & Ross's Irish R.M. novels & home of Lennox Robinson; Glengariff where Shaw wrote St Joan; Castletownbere - inspiration of Daphne du Maurier's "Hungry Hill" & Froude's The Two Chiefs of Dunboy. Return to Cork.
Day 6 Kerry & the Blackwater Valley
Through Mallow - Inspiration of Elizabeth Bowen, Canon Sheehan & Edmund Spencer. To Listowel, home of John B Keane, Bryan MacMahon, Brendan Kennelly & Maurice Walsh. Dinner & overnight in Frank McCourt (Angela's Ashes) Limerick in a lovely townhouse hotel on Pery Square.
Day 7 The Burren
Visit Yeats Tower - Thor Ballylee; Coole Park at Gort where Lady Gregory & her circle spearheaded the Celtic Revival. Visit the Autograph Tree, signed by Yeats, Shaw, O'Casey, AE & others. Lunch in a famous pub in Carron, on top of the
Burren, or the superb organic cafe at The Burren Perfumery.Stop by the Merriman
Inn, named in honor of the 18th Century poet, whose proto-feminist work is well
worth reading . Explore the Burren and The Cliffs of Moher. Return to Limerick for the night.
