Explore Bunratty castle, for a medieval design experience, the Cliffs of Moher, for natures design, and The Burren, a wild limestone plateau with charming artisan craft workers studios hidden away in remote spot. Overnight at The G Galway

The exuberant spirit of Galway has been captured in the g. From the strikingly contemporary exterior to the warm Irish welcome waiting inside, the first impression of the g is that it is a welcome compliment to the city. The g’s design director is renowned hat-designer Philip Treacy, a native of Galway, and his special touch is evident everywhere, from the bespoke concierge wall to the artwork in every room. The emphasis throughout is on luxury and glamour. This is carried through to the exclusive ESPA at the g, created and managed by ESPA, the world leader in creating fabulous lifestyle spas. ESPA at the g is Ireland’s first "urban" spa, an oasis of calm and relaxation. If Philip Treacy’s distinctive flair defines the g experience, it is underpinned by impeccable standards of service, and attention to detail, without which the g would not be the first-class hotel that it is. Once again the food is as memorable and original as the decoration.

Day 7
Tour the wild heart of Connemara, a land of bottomlemless black lakes, heather moorland and quartzite conical mountains puncturing the sky. Visit the small harbour down of
Westport, with its busy colourful streets, antique galleries and design shops. Follow the banks of Lough Conn to stay in the Ice House on the quay in Ballina.

The newly opened Ice House Hotel and Spa is located in a historic and beautiful building commanding a picturesque stretch of the River Moy. The Hotel comprises 32 bedrooms, Spa and Zen garden, treatments rooms, relaxation rooms, a large vaulted dinning room and bar. It maintains the tradition of a fine Country House combined with the off beat luxury and style of today. The seamless fusion of design and warm hospitality provides a unique environment where you can explore the outdoors, sample delicious cuisine or get busy doing nothing at all. The alternative is to stay in the Glass House in Sligo. A wonderful piece of modern design, with a bar floating over the city of the poet W B Yeats.

Day 8
By way of Sligo and the countryside that inspired the poet W B Yeats.

Stop for lunch in the lakelands near Castlepollard and overnight at Bellinter House,
Navan
Set in beautiful parkland, it is only about 45 minutes from Dublin Airport,
Bellinter is the first of a new generation of cool country house hotels. The interior has been restored with meticulous attention to the architectural integrity of the building, but with a youthful, contemporary twist; public rooms include the Drawing Room on the main floor (all day dining is available there), the Bellinter Bar (ground floor, perfect for ‘pints and cocktails’; bar food available any time) and The Wine Bar in the basement, which is adjacent to the restaurant. all rooms are luxuriously furnished in a fun way with hand made and old furniture, and have extra large beds (with goose down pillows wrapped in Egyptian cotton), centrally controlled mood lighting, drinks cabinet, custom made Italian multi-media 40 “plasma screens, Bose Sound systems, DVD players WIFI, and the beautiful bathrooms have full bath and/or power showers and pampering details including a full range of certified organic seaweed toiletries. The gardens are worth a special mention as the amazing, colourful and fun ‘pavilion pod’ that won Diarmuid Gavin a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower Show has found a new home in the gardens here - a great decision that neatly sums up the philosophy behind
Bellinter. The restaurant, Eden, is so good that many of your fellow
diners will have driven the 30 miles from Dublin city just to eat here.
