| A visit to Sligo Folk Park is a true
experience of rural and Irish heritage. In the heart of Riverstown (1
mile from Ross House), the cultural history and heritage of the whole
Sligo region comes to life. This is a place which is great fun for young
and old. Children can discover how their great-grandparents used to live
and those who are still young at heart can take trip down memory lane to
rediscover how life used to be in the old days. |
 |
| The region provides good salmon,
trout, coarse and sea angling. As no closed season applies to coarse
angling in the Irish Republic, it is possible to enjoy an angling
holiday here at any time of year and we can supply boats, tackle and
engines at a reasonable fee those who are keen. Lough Arrow, one of the
better known Irish limestone lakes is 3 miles form Ross House is open
for Trout fishing 1st March to 30th September. Late April provides good
"duck fly" fishing and the hardy annual mayfly appears with
the Hawthorn and the Lilac blossom. In addition to Loch Arrow, the
following waters add variety to make an angling holiday memorable
(distances form Ross House in miles): Lough Bo 2, Lough Key 10, Lough na,
Leibe 8, Lough Gill 13,
Ballisodare River 9 |
