"We spent the most beautiful weekend at Ballyogan House, where we were treated and looked after so well by the lovely hosts who were very welcoming. The pictureque view from every room in the house and the wonderful strolls around their land and down to the river was such a retreat. The breakfasts were the nicest I've tasted in any B&B I've stayed in." tripadvisor.com |

Recommended by Sawday's Special Places & most other guide books. "We stayed only one night at the Blanchville House but wish we could have stayed longer. This is a beautiful old home in the country with the most welcoming hostess. It's located about 10 minutes from Kilkenny City Centre so not a bad drive. It was certainly worth staying a little out of town to eat the best breakfast we had in Ireland at her grand table. We slept well in a beautiful canopy bed and woke to the peaceful country sounds." tripadvisor.com |

part of the lands. Bridgestone Award. Art studio conservatory for guest &
conference use. 6 rooms, 3 en-suite.
"We were part of a hen weekend - dinner was very, very late so by the time we got to sit down, we were pretty merry. Merry or not, I can still remember how good the dinner was. The dessert was satan on a plate and we loved it. Conversation was constant. Breakfast, after a sound sleep, was held at a leisurely 11.30-1.30 which is fantastic when you don't want to be shoved out of your beds at ridiculoulsy early hours- so common these days. I really felt at home. I also love cats so it's a bonus having them around. Patricia is an interesting and hospitable host while at the same time "no-nonsense" kind of lady. I would definitely recommend to those looking for an atypical night away." tripadvisor.com Cullintra is an Irish institurion, like Bewleys, or The Shelbourne. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, the food is excellent and Patricia is memorable. Once you find Cullintra you will return again and again! |
