Wellbrook is charming 18th century former rectory set in its own 80 acres of parkland, woodlands, and gardens in the rolling countryside of North Kilkenny.  There is a 13th century parish church & priests tower house as well as a medieval dovecote to explore,  where guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings, wander through the gardens of rare shrubs and ancient trees, explore the woodlands or merely relax amongst the medieval ruins. 

Kilkenny City is but 10 minutes away, while the local city of Freshford (1 mile) is of archeological interest, has an excellent antique shop in a stately mansion and boasts a couple of excellent pubs.  

The accommodation at Wellbrook includes a large dining room and a drawing room on either side of the main hallway, a tranquil study, a cloakroom with a shower and a large kitchen with a breakfast room leading off it, a tack hall and a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer, & oil fired central heating.  On the return of the stairs there is a sun room while upstairs 3 double rooms one twin and 2 single bedrooms provide comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to 10 people.  There are 4 spacious bathrooms (2 with shower) and a walk-in hot press.  There are 2  telephone lines, & sky multi channel t.v.  There is also security lighting, a monitored alarm system and electronically controlled gates.

Wellbrook is under two hours drive in average traffic from Dublin, Cork, Rosslare Harbour or Shannon Airport.  It is an ideal base for visiting nearby sites such as Kilcooley Abbey, Ballyspellan Spa, Holycross, and Kilkenny or touring afield to Cashel, the Nore Valley, Birr, Waterford, Slievenamon, and the Blackstairs Mountains & the Comeragh Mountains,	There is a little known but excellent golf course at Kilkenny, while the internationally acclaimed golf course at Mount Juliet is only half an hour away.  Tennis and horse riding can be arranged as can fishing and hunting in season.
