hideaway. There's fishing, riding and walking in the area, and the house
has comfy sofas and open fires for cosy evenings. There is a stream
flowing closeby and the property is surrounded by rolling hills and lakes.
It has five double bedrooms all with private, modern, and luxurious bathrooms and one twin interconnecting room and sleeps twelve with ease. It also has a
drawing room, dining room, sitting room and fully equipped kitchen.
In the yard the old mill has been restored and turned into a huge ballroom or
party room that can seat over 100 guests..
The House is about 2 km away from Lough Muckno, reputedly the best Coarse fishing lake in Ireland. All country pursuits such as horse riding and clay pigeon shooting are available locally. There are 5 renowned golf courses within a 20 minute
drive (the closest being Concra Golf Club - designed by Christie O'Connon Junior). There are also a number of restaurants close by.
One of the things that makes Thornford a really special luxury holiday home is the extraordinary quality of its restoration and furnishings - the pictures speak for them selves!
