Smaremore Castle

Smarmore Castle combines the charm and relaxed atmosphere of a bygone age with the comfort and hospitality of  modern accommodation. It is an impressive building dating from 1320. The interior has been refurbished and its unique architecture and character are generally pretty well preserved.  The drawing room and dining room are very attractive rooms, with a splendid original 19th century decoration, beautifully restored.  All bedrooms contain a large sitting area, writing desk, phone, TV, tea coffee making facilities and ensuite bathroom. The restaurant located in the Castle courtyard is run independently and has a wine license.   At Smarmore you have an unusual combination of a family run B&B in a rambling historic home, a leisure centre and a restaurant - three quite seperate entities, yet all under the same roof.
