The quiet market town of Mallow is situated in the scenic Blackwater Valley, an area known for its superb fishing and golfing facilities. The Mallow Castle estate borders the banks of the Blackwater River, and provides two miles of the finest private salmon fishing in Ireland. The 'new' castle dates from 1689 and overlooks the old castle ruins, a national historic monument. In the park a herd of white deer still graze, descendants of original animals given to the Castle by Queen Elizabeth I. The property is looked after by a large friendly staff, including a cook, who provides delicious meals using the best of local produce. The beautifully restored and luxuriously comfortable interiors provide the perfect venue for a family reunion or gathering of friends.

The castle has been beautifully maintained by it American owners.  It offers a chance to play at being Queen Elizabeth, or even King Arthur, in appropriate surroundings and without the discomforts of past times!  There is central heating throughout and a baby's cot and highchair can be provided.
