These cottages are surrounded by a 560 acre estate, just 15 minutes west of Dublin in the
green Liffey valley. Even the driveway into the estate surpasses all expectations: the
curving road takes you past herds of regal Limousin cattle, bred on the estate, and by the
shores of a lake where majestic swans glide. Beyond lies the imposing, tree-ringed
Luttrellstown Castle
The estate has its own 18 hole Championship golf course with driving range, professional
coach and modern clubhouse. The lake spans 20 acres and is perfect for angling and boating
while the extensive parkland and woods seem made for horse-riding and walking. The walled
garden is home to over 300 different exotic plants and trees.
The cottages themselves are comfortably decorated, though they do not
even approach the luxury of the castle. When the castle is occupied by visiting
Heads of State the cottages are used by the aides and senior staff. Cottage 1 consists
of two twin bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room. Cottage 2 consists of
four twin bedrooms (one ensuite),separate bathroom, separate wc, kitchen and living
room/dining room.
