This remarkable mansion was originally the home of the local Gaelic Chieftain, but in recent years it has become a most stunning and remarkable centrepiece for an even more amazing garden.  It has 4 large and 2 small double rooms.  There are 8 additional seperate bedrooms available in the walled garden.   These are quite separate from the main house, but only 100 yards away.  Additional accommodation for up to 20 guests is available in the Victorian dower house,  800 yards away across the garden.

Liss Ard's 50 acres open the way for a unique experience in nature. Carefully laid pathways guide you subtly through this contemporary landscaped garden with its 10 "rooms". Each room enhances a visitor's personal perception of light and nature. This garden focuses on one of those ten rooms, the Irish Sky Garden, designed by Californian installation artist James Turrell.

The decoration of the house has influences from West Cork, Japan, California and Germany - highly sophisticated minimalism, yet also very comfortable. The rooms are supplied with connections for TV, video, fax, & computers. There is a small gym and a businesslike meeting room. Tenants of the house have included world famous pop groups who have recorded here, some of the world's most successful businessmen and politicians who have held private meetings here, as well as large family groups.

Golf, cycling, fishing and tennis are all available on the estate or within 15 minutes, and the rugged cliff and stunning seascapes of the Atlantic coastline are within 5 miles of the house. Cork Airport is just over 1 hour away (52 Miles).
