Lismore Castle is situated in the beautiful Blackwater Valley commanding a superb position overlooking the River Blackwater. To the North are rolling, wooded hills, to the south the twin Cathedral town (Anglican and Catholic) of Lismore is a few minutes walk. The peaceful upper garden enclosed by walls was built by the Earl of Cork in 1626/7. The lower garden with its magnificent Yew Walk, contains a fine collection of Camellias, Magnolias and other shrubs.
Guests enjoy all the splendour and privacy of living in the Duke's quarters of the Castle and are looked after by his own personal staff. The staff pride themselves on the level of cuisine and service which is exactly the same as when the Duke or his family are staying.
Local attractions: Waterford - home of the world famous Waterford Glass, is just 44 miles away. Salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing in the River Blackwater. Deep sea and big game fishing at Dungarvan, Youghal and Kinsale. Nine-hole golf course on the estate and several other courses nearby. Racing, hunting and riding, walking, theatre and shopping.
The Castle is rented with full staff under the butler, all supervised by the resident agent. The accommodation consists of twelve bedrooms and eleven bathrooms and will sleep twenty-three guests. Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner are included in the rate. Lunches and picnics can be organised if required.

price includes dinner, lunch and breakfast. The cook uses the finest local ingredients in
her excellent dishes.
