Looking due South towards Beara. |
A rather bleak winter view, just after the conservatory was finished |
A newly built traditional stone two storey farm house, with a private garden and outdoor table and chairs. The house has hardwood floors, and huge windows overlooking Kenmare bay and the town. It is just over 1km from the town at the end of a cul de sac.
Living areas: Downstairs has a series of living areas leading from one
into another. The well equipped kitchen has plenty of space for
breakfast, and to the right is the conservatory / dining room. Across the
front of the house is the sitting room. There is also a double bedroom,
which has a view of the town, and a bathroom. Upstairs there are two
single bedrooms, decorated as children's rooms, and a very large twin beddded
room. These three rooms share a bathroom. The master bedroom has a
marble walled ensuite bathroom and a balcony that overlooks the bay and the
Beara Peninsula
Local attractions: Within 5 minutes are facilities for fishing, water-sports, golf, cycling,
horse riding, quad bikes, sea cruising, forest parks and walks. Sightseeing on
The Ring of Kerry and The Beara Peninsula. Kenmare is a noted gourmet
paradise with over 30 restaurants, two of which have Michelin stars. Cork
and Blarney are just over 1 hour. Shannon is nearly 3 hours. Dublin
is 5 hours.
Facilities: Central heating, private parking, shop nearby, ground floor
bedroom, t.v., cd player.
Directions: Approx. 1km outside Kenmare on the Sneem Road. Turn
right up a little track signposted The Kerry Way.
This is a really comfortable and well equipped attractive modern house. It has plenty of space for those who just wish to relax indoors, and a wealth of things to occupy the more active. The owner of the house, who lives just outside the town, is a school teacher, local historian and long distance hiker and would be happy to advise guests on local activities. A cleaner is available at extra cost.

The photos show the house to be a little bare, but I was there with a camera just after the builders had moved out and it becomes more cosy and comfortble every time I visit it.
