An exceptional cottage on the Inishowen Peninsula set in 35 acres of
beautiful and unspoilt countryside with panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean and one of
the best beaches in Ireland. Visitors can simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet,
explore one of the most scenic parts of Ireland or try a spot of fishing or golf.
Bunagee Pier is a short walk away with access to fishing boats and
sea angling, and the village of Culdaff with its pubs, a restaurant, and shops,
one mile distant. There are two 18-hole golf links at Ballyliffen golf club,
5-miles away, and three other golf clubs within an easy drive. The house has
been featured in Ireland's Homes and Interiors
The original 1820s cottage and farm buildings have been completely renovated to a high
standard. You will find a warm welcoming atmosphere in a setting that combines the very
best of traditional local vernacular architecture with all the style and comfort of
contemporary living. The interiors have been decorated with an inspired palette of colours
that perfectly complements the surrounding landscape. Bright airy rooms, open fires, slate
and wooden floors, Donegal tweed furnishings, antiques and curios.
The cottage comfortably sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms. Of the four bedrooms, the main bedroom has a 5ft bed with a large en suite marble floored shower room, and there is another small double bedroom with a traditional Irish bed. There are two twin bedded rooms, one of which is approached by steep stairs. The family bathroom is equipped with a bath and separate shower.
There are two large sitting rooms, one with panoramic views over Culdaff Bay. Doors lead
out to the gardens with the beach a stroll away.
There is a spacious well-equipped kitchen with a full range of modern appliances. All
linen and towels are provided. There is central heating throughout. There
is a Television, radio and CD player.
The cottage is secluded but not isolated. The village of Culdaff is 1 mile away, with
pubs, a restaurant and shops. Bunagee Pier is a short walk, access to fishing boats and
sea angling. Ballyliffin Golf Gourse is 10km. The lawn meadow in front of the house
is ideal for relaxing and picnics. Across the lane the Beach Meadow is planted with
wild flowers and criss-crossed with pathways cut in the grass. This leads straight
on to the beach.
