These are fabulous cottages overlooking the bay. Originally the lodges to the 18th century Glandore House, they have been completely restored, refurbished and modernised by the present owners, who bought them in 2001. They themselves are keen yachtsmen, which is why they bought them. They also own one of Ireland's finest hotels, which is why they have no time to use them themselves!

Each house has 3 ensuite bedrooms (sleeping 6 people).  Bathrooms have power showers not tubs. Kitchen/Breakfast Room and sitting room with large open fire. Utility room with washing and dryer etc. Very comfortable soft furnishings with designer fabrics, antique furniture and original paintings. The highest quality beds and linen are used with goose down duvets and lots of fluffy white towels. The house is heated by oil fired central heating and there are power showers in the bathrooms. Each house has a patio area with garden furniture and barbecue.

Opposite Hayes' Bar is a small park, an ideal play place for toddlers.  Opposite Katies Pub a path leads down to a  beach, which is fine for bathing.  The nearest shopping towns are Roscarberry and Skibereen,.

GlandBed4.jpg (11936 bytes) This is very much a gourmet's paradise, with several wonderful restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Locals include Jeremy Irons and David Putman; Tony Blair holidays just along the coast. It is Ireland's Pacific Palisades or Malibu, but prettier!

We feel that there are two downsides to the houses.  One is that, apart from the patio, there is not a garden.  On the other hand there are lots of walks in the area, and there are lots of places to lounge on the seaside.  The other is that during the summer months the road through the village can be very busy
