Fascinating 200 year old rambling house set in a large 8 acre garden within walking distance of the sea and about a mile from the village. It has tons of character and is a proper country house, though it tends to appeal more to Europeans than Americans.  We rate it highly for comfort and ambience. The rooms are large and have attractive proportions and high ceilings. It has heirloom furniture and the fact that it has been in the family of its titled owner (who is a bachelor, art patron and restaurateur) for many generations is evident in what the antique dealers call patina and others call wear. However everything is clean and works and Interiors magazines love to photograph the house. Convenient to fishing, golf and beaches. Close to Clifden (12 miles) and Roundstone (1 mile) for shops, restaurants, pubs and art galleries. Good cycling routes and scenic walks.  The stone barn to the right of the house is used as an art gallery and will from time to time have clients coming to visit it.  However the reception rooms look out onto the gardens to the West of the house, so your privacy is not compromised.

On the top floor there are three bedrooms, one with 2 single beds, one with a double bed and one with a kingsize double. On this floor there is a bathroom with tub & w.c. and a shower room. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms. There is a room with a king size "zip and link" bed, that can be a twin,  with an en suite shower room and a South facing balcony overlooking the garden, 1 room with standard 5' double beds. There is also a bathroom.
Accommodation: 2 standard double bedrooms, 2 king size double, 1 twin, 3 bathrooms. Sleeps 8 comfortably

Living areas: Large bright living room with open fire. Modern kitchen. Dining Room.

Facilities: Cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Linen provided. Cleaner and Cook/housekeeper available.
