Darver Castle has been part of the Irish landscape for over 500 years. It is situated on about 50 acres of fine parkland along the rolling countryside of County Louth, 40 miles north of Dublin. On the outside the old stone walls conjure up a bygone era. Inside the completely refurbished rooms (which are decorated with a cosy, Victorian style) offer every modern comfort that one might expect. The Irish American owners have brought some of the comfort and style of their Florida home to this corner of Ireland.
The Castle has two distinct wings. The East Wing has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (2 with Jacuzzi Whirlpool tubs) and The West Wing has 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms. The West Wing includes a Swedish style sauna that is built into one of the towers. Each wing has a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining area. In both wings the kitchens are exceptional - very large rooms, with granite worktops, solid fuel and electric cookers, American style fridge freezers.
