Danesfort, 

A classical 18th century hunting lodge, this house has been extensively refurbished twice in the last decade, once by American owners who made it comfortable, and more recently by its new Irish owners who have made it stylish!  The rooms are spacious and 3 of the six bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.  The other three share a bathroom.  There are two sitting rooms and a fine dining room.  The kitchen is large, modern, efficient and well equipped.  

The wooded parkland grounds include a barn that has been converted into a splendid playroom/studio and are 5 miles from Lough Derg, which can be seen in the distance from the estate.  The nearest village is Woodford, 2 miles away.  Loughrea, a large and busy market town, is 11 miles.  The house  is only available between March and September.  

There is lots to do in the area - fishing, boating, riding and golf are all within 10 minutes.  Shannon is about 1 hour, as is Galway City.  Dublin is a little over 2 hours.  Portumna Castle, Birr Castle, Redwood Castle, Athenry Castle.  ..... the area is rich in remains from bygone times.   The hinterland of Lough Derg down to Mountshannon is a wonderful area to explore, and has been completely unexploited.  Traditional Irish pubs with local musicians are still to be found without the razzmatazz of Bunratty Castle.

The beds are comfortable and have new mattresses.   

There is a TV and video,  CD sound system.
