Cruit Island

Donegal

Cruit Island Thatched Cottages are a cluster of ten traditional thatched cottages, nestled snugly into the Donegal landscape, in a setting of near perfect peace and beauty.  Each Cottage has been architect designed to combine the very best of old-world charm with the full comforts of modern living.

Each cottage accommodates up to seven people in spacious comfort.  The porch with traditional half-door, leads into a large livingroom (20' x 14') with old fashioned high ceiling, open hearth turf fireplace, pine table and dresser, sugan rocking chairs, modern pine fitted kitchen, bathroom and toilet, two large bedrooms (one double bed, one triple with 3 singles)  and a charmingly quaint loft bedroom with twin beds (all bed frames in natural pine). The master bedroom has en-suite shower room.

Side by side with the traditional you enjoy the full comfort of oil-fired central heating, washer/dryer and dishwasher.

There are over two hundred species of wild flowers on Cruit, including a profusion of Orchids, Primroses, Sea-holly, harebell and Sea-pinks

Cruit Island is joined by a bridge to the mainland. It is approximately 3 miles
