Lying on the beautiful shores of tranquil Upper Lough Erne, amongst an archipelago of wooded islands and woodlands, Crom Castle is a romantic 19th Century Victorian Castle set in a 1900 acre estate, one of Northern Ireland's most important conservation areas. The outstanding beauty and tranquillity of this setting with its wonderful wildlife and nature makes it a perfect holiday retreat for all. The estate is meticulously kept and looked after by the National Trust, making it a wonderful place to discover and explore.

 According to local legend, Fermanagh was once a vast plain with a Fairy Well in the middle.
The well was always kept covered from sunlight to prevent it from bubbling over. One day two young lovers met by the well and decided to elope. They drank a last toast from the well and ran off together, leaving it uncovered. The Fairy Well has bubbled ceaselessly for centuries and that is how the Fermanagh Lakelands were formed.

Crom Castle is privately owned by The Crichton family, Earls of Erne. The West Wing radiates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where guests can feel that they are staying in someone's home rather than an impersonal hotel or guest house. The Wing has been recently refurbished and makes an ideal self-contained holiday. It sleeps up to 11 people comfortably, however if you are a smaller group it can easily be taken as an option for six people. See our rates page.
