Bensfort Lodge a 19th century stone gate lodge. It is extremely comfortable has been furnished and decorated with flair and is finished to a very high standard. The lodge is located 4 miles from the heritage town of Kells world famous for " The Book Of Kells" and one hour's drive from Dublin Airport. Bensfort Lodge has one very unique attraction - throughout the house organic paints have been used; the cleaning materials are all chemical free citrus based; the garden is organic. It is a chemical free environment for any one suffering from an organophosphate intolerance.

The lodge combines an old world ambience, with all the modern conveniences that you would expect, oil central heating, open fire, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, colour TV and V.C.R. The house is also equipped with fire and security alarms. There are 3 bedrooms, all en-suite, kitchen/dining area and a spacious sitting room with open fire. The floors are both wooden and tiled. All organic paints and wood treatments used. The house has it's own private car parking, and there are tennis facilities on site. The Lodge is situated off the main Kells - Oldcastle road and hour's drive from Dublin airport. It is centrally located for Meath sightseeing, including the Neolithic sites of Newgrange, Loughcrew and the Hill of Tara. Kells(4 miles from the lodge)

The town of Kells is an Irish Heritage town that boasts
numerous sites of historic and cultural interest. An excellent indoor swimming
pool, pitch & putt facilities and one of Ireland's finest golf courses -
Headfort golf course - are to be found here. Pubs, restaurants and café's also
abound. From the lodge you will be able to see the tower of Loyd built during
the famine to provide employment and now home to a public park. St. Ciaran's
well, an unspoilt site of local pilgrimage is only a five-minute drive away.
Excellent golf can be had within a five mile radius, including Ballinlough
castle, Virginia, Delvin castle and the most famous of them all Headfort golf
course designed by Christy O'Connor jnr, is one of the finest 36 hole parkland
courses in the country. Garden enthusiasts will have plenty to choose from
including the delightful garden's at Ballinlough Castle, Lakeview house,
Butterstream, Loughcrew and Grove gardens.

There are interesting drives to Tara, the Hill of Slane, through the Boyne Valley and to the Cooley Peninsula. The nearby towns of Drogheda, Slane, Navan and Kells have a wide range of restaurants and interesting shops.
