Ballylickey, home of the franco-Irish Graves family for four generations, lies hidden among the rugged inlets of majestic Bantry Bay. This secluded Manor House has the ambience of a beautiful family home, cherished and nurtured over the centuries.
Originally built over 300 years ago as a shooting lodge by Lord Kenmare it was carefully restored by the present owner. Visited over the years on many occasions by the poet Robert Graves, an uncle of the present owners. Ballylickey became a haven for writers, artists and musicians.
A short walk from the main house lie our charming and colourful swimming pool, bar and lucheon restaurant together with a cluster of rustic cottages, that offer an alternative to staying in the main house, where guests may choose between double bedded rooms and suites.
Ballylickey over looking beautiful Bantry Bay, in the midst of magnificent scenery and within easy reach of Killarney, Glengarrifff and the majestic coastline of South West County Cork, offers a wide variety of sport and leisure activities on the property and nearby, Outdoor Swimming Pool - Game & Sea Fishing - 2 Golf Courses - (2 and 5 miles) - Croquet - Riding - Mountain Walks and two of the finest Botanical Gardens to visit.
