Connemara

7 km. from Clifden, this is a modern house with direct access onto a private sandy beach, with wonderful views of the sea and the islands of Connemara. The house was built as a small hotel, so there is plenty of space and it has all the features that one would expect of a good guesthouse. The entrance hall leads to a large sitting room and a dining room with amazing sea views. There is a fully equipped kitchen (with dish washer, microwave, fridge freezer, ice making machine etc), and a utility room with washing machine & drier.  There are 8 bedrooms in total.  One is more of a playroom, but it has a single bed in it.  Of the others, 6 are double bedrooms and 1 has twin beds.  3 bedrooms have a seaview and 7 have en suite bath/shower rooms. All the bedrooms have satellite t.v.. Central heating and open fires make it cosy even when the skies are grey!!

Omey Island can be seen from the house. At low tide it is great fun to drive or walk across the sandy causeway to the island, though remember that the tides sweep in quite quickly!! Though only a 15 minute drive into Clifden, the capital of Connemara, which has restaurants, shops and pubs galore, Actons is in a very peaceful part of Connemara. Kylemore Abbey and Gardens, the little harbour of Cleggan (with ferries to Inishbofin - the most remote of the inhabited islands of Connemara) and the Connemara National Park are all close by.
